Its been so long!
I cant believe its been over a month since Ive made a card. I started a new job and Im on my feet all day long. I come home late, tired and with full on back pains from lifting and carrying heavy things. I was able to make my son a Thomas the Tank Engine out of his wagon for him to ride around in during Halloween. I need to squeeze in some time to get my own personal Christmas cards done.... but when???

...the stockings were hung by the chimney with care...
...in hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there. Lets hope he doesnt get stuck in the chimney like this one did! The challenge this week at Winter Wonderland is Stockings. This is one of my own images I drew up, it has 2 lil stockings on the mantle that are topped off with some fun flock. Santas dangling boots are glazed with Glossy Accents and the holly berries are stickled.

My Chee-z Creations
Hello y'all! I have a couple of cards to share with you today. On both cards are images I hand drew. The first one is Chee-z Claus. I used Cotton Ball White Fun Flock on his beard and suit. He is colored with Bic Markers, Crayola Colored Pencils and Prismacolor. The paper is from Recollections Gem Stone series. I added some bling, a lace border punch and a G Studio sentiment. I used the sketch provided this week over at Christmas Stampin All Year Long.
My second card is for a sketch challenge over at Cafemoms Cute Critter Club. My little girls love the Disney Princesses. This is my Chee-z version of Belle. Some of the cardstock if from the Recollections line and the others are from the ancient stash Ive had hidden in a box. She is colored with my Bic markers and colored pencils, then topped off with some bling and Yellow Stickles.

Lovin' Doodle Street!!!!
I finally was able to print out some images from Doodle Street! Heather and Cassandra have done a fabulous job with all their images and their blog. Check them out if you havent done so already! Show my girls some love!!!! I used on of Cassandras images for this weeks challenge. They wanted the colors black, blue and green to be used on a card. My daughter said that blue wasnt a good color for a flower, but I think it looks good on this image, dont you?

Have you seen...???
Have you seen the fabulous art work created by Mo? OMG! She is such an ah-mazing artist! If you have yet to see, hop on over to Digital Pencil Too and check out her awesome digi-images! She has also just started her own challenge blog over at DP2. The first challenge is up and you still have plenty of time to get in on it, ends on the 12th. Also if you are a member of her group over at Paper Craft Planet, she has a couple of freebies up for grabs. Mo's first challenge is to use the color 'Perple' and I grabbed myself the image and created the above card.

Chee-z Drummer
Last weekend while I was sick, I spent most of my time trying to create my own digital images. Ive had friends ask me to make them cards and I always try to personalize them to their taste. A while back one of my friends whom is a drummer asked if I would make him a birthday card. I just couldnt find anyone that had an image that would suit him. So I created Chee-z. I have Chee-z on a motorcross bike, eating cheez cake, in a red riding hood, playing the drums and many other things. I had just finished the drummer card the other day and saw that todays challenge over at Digital Tuesday has a music theme. So I thought Chee-z would fit perfect for the challenge. I hope you like it and any feedback is welcome on my lil mouse.

3 challenges minus 1
So that makes it 2 challenges, right? I had made this card a few days ago and forgot to post it, so I missed the challenge that was going on over at Winter Wonderland. The theme was Hot Chocolate. I have been sick and busy the past few days creating my own images. This was one of the first ones I hand drew specifically for that challenge. Bummed that I missed it, but am thrilled that I have came up with about 20 of my own images to attach on to future cards. Back to the other challenges.... I used the sketch provided by Friday Sketchers this week. Over at Saturday Challenge they had the theme of Animal Antics. This crazy mouse got himself stuck in a cup of hot chocolate and looks like he is enjoying himself quite a bit!

4 cards......5 Challenges.
I have 4 cards to show off today. My HP printer is acting terribly goofy so I had to dig out my USB cable to upload my photos from my camera. I seem to have more and more troubles with that dern printer!
My first card I would like to share is this funky colored one. Lili of the Valley wants us to use the color combos of brown, orange and green. Thought this would be easy peasy since those are my favorite colors. I had a bit of difficulty putting it all together. I used the sketch provided in this weeks challenge from Delightful Sketches. This sketch was actually fun to work with.
My 2nd card, I used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges. I kept it really simple but turned it into a tri-fold...I think that is what the proper fold name is. :)
The challenge at Anns Creative Nook is to use the color combo of pink and black. My oldest daughter, Rian (Ryan) Tyler is turning 5 tomorrow and loves loves loves the color pink so I wanted to make it special so I used the tri-shutter fold to give it a bit more character.
Lastly, I decided finally that I would participate in the Bellarrific Friday challenge.... and this is what I came up with!

Mint Julep Sketch...
Ive decided that Im just no good at this blogging thing. I can talk and talk and talk but when it comes to writing (or typing) words down.... Im just awful! LOL So I will make it short and sweet. I used the sketch for this card at Inspirational Card Sketches and chose the color challenge from Cute Card Thursday. The colors are pink and green, strawberry mint julep. The image is one of my all time faves, she is colored with my Bic Markers and Crayola Colored pencils. The flowers were cut from a ribbon given to me in a RAK and topped off with some skittles. I tried my attempt at handwriting the sentiment. Its a bit sloppy...next time I will write my sentiments before I drink my coffee!

Ode to Our Firemen
Have you ever wondered what happened to some of your friends you've lost contact with from high school? I have, quite a few to be honest. I had joined Facebook about a year ago and reconnected with a lot of those people. One person that I have 'found' really stood out for me and I must say that I was really bummed when he didnt show up to our recent 20 year reunion. This person was always nice and sweet to me thru my school years. I am thrilled to say that this person has not changed a bit.... still sarcastic as ever! He is now a Lieutenant for the Corvallis, Oregon Fire Department, Lt. Shawn Morgan. I am so dang proud of him for all that he does and dangers he faces every day to keep the community safe. I am also extremely proud to call him my friend. Shawn, I dedicate this card to you and I want to thank you for everything you do to make this world a better place.
On this card I used a Dustin Pike Freebie Image. I tried to customize the outfit to match that of which Shawn wears, complete with the reflective yellow stripes. I hand drew the fire truck in the background and colored everything with my Bic Markers, Gel pens and Crayola colored pencils. I put some Glossy Accents glaze over the trucks windows to give it more of a windowy feel. I added some lettering on the truck as well as the fire hat to make the dragon feel more like Shawn. Lastly, I found a site filled with quotes for firefighters. I chose 'Ode to our Firemen' by Frederic G.W. Fenn.

Friend to Friend....
Im back with my 2nd post for today... I have created this interesting colored card using a Gorjuss Girl image I received from my sweet friend Shannon. I wasnt sure about the color combo challenge posted at The Pink Elephant but I thought I would give it a whirl. The colors to use are red, yellow, black and white. Little weird but the DT creations are so wonderful, I knew I could come up with something. I also used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I really liked the sketch here. I wanted to put a 'mini' card on the front of the actual card and this sketch allowed me to do so. The ribbon carries on into the mini card as well as the inside of the card itself.
The card below is a quick lil something I cooked up earlier today. No challenge for this one.... Just wanted to share...
Color and a sketch challenge...
Here I used one of my favorite RAK images from my dear friend Jacilynn. I used the sketch from Papertake Weekly and the color challenge over at Roses on Paper. The colors are lavender, soft blue and cream.
Below is a card I wanted to share with you. I made this for a 3 yo boy birthday. I used Dustin Pikes Freebie images. To save on using all my brown bic marker, I first copied the background scene onto brown card stock and then I cut out the flooring and glued it on top of another background scene. I used pop dots on the barrel, the box and the dragon.

A sing-song & sketch challenge
This card is using the sketch posted on Anns Creative Nook. She wanted the embellie and the diamond elements to be on the card, altho my diamond is shaped more like a rectangle,I still have the basic sketch. This week the challenge over at House of Mouse was to use a song title or song lyrics to create the card. I had a lot of songs to choose from that fit this image. I decided to go with Love Sweet Love by Morcheeba, one of my favorite bands. I colored the image with my bic markers and colored pencils. I used faux stitching as well as felt flower brads and then distressed the image edges with chalk.

Friday Sketchers #68
Ive made quite a few cards since Ive been back from vacation but this one I actually followed the sketch that Friday Sketchers has for their challenge this week. I use a Gorjuss Girl I received in RAK as well as the skittle embellies on the top left. I am totally in love with the Gorjuss Girl stamps, Im going to have to break down here real soon and purchase some of my own. The sentiment I love you, so there... is something I tend to say from time to time. I thought it fit perfect with this image.
Here are a few more cards I created using some more of the Gorjuss girl images.

Well Hello!!!
I cant believe its been over a month since Ive posted anything. Well... yes I can! I took a 3 week vacation to Oregon to visit my family and also attend my 20 year high school reunion. My son and I caught a nasty bug on the plane that left us feeling pretty icky for the first week and half of our visit. Besides the downfall of being sick, I really enjoyed myself. I was so happy to reconnect with old friends and spark up some new friendships during the reunion. I did, however, take my card making supplies with me and get some projects done while I was there. My friend Traci, a fellow alumni wanted me to make her 4 stationary boxes as well as make a few stationary sets to give as door prizes at the reunion. There is a lot of pictures of my projects that would take up a lot of space if I posted them here. If you would like to take a look at them, feel free to check out my gallery on my Facebook page, photos 26 - 46. The fishing creel and the golf set are the ones I donated for the door prizes. Since Ive been home, I have been slowly working on some cards and trying to participate in some challenges. I will try to post them a bit later. I hope you enjoy my photos!!! Thank you for looking!

Sharing...
Good Mornin! No challenge for this card... I just wanted to share it with y'all. I made this card for a friends son that will be turning 22. I wanted to have a little 'pop' so I chose to use the step fold with Dustin Pikes Monster Truck and sign. I used a couple pieces of a twig I had laying around to hold the sign up, put a few rips and tears to create the mountain look and distressed the edges with Studio G $1 ink pad.

3 Dog Gone Challenges...
Blech! My photos are so blurry these days! Anywhooo... I needed to make a card using the colors blue, green and orange for a challenge at my Cafemom group The Cute Critters Club but I needed a sketch to follow. I chose to use the sketch at Charisma Cardz and as I was looking I noticed that Our Creative Corners challenge this weeks was to make a card using a 'pet'. So I am entering this card into 3 challenges. I used another image that I won from the Digi Shack, cut out some circles for balloons, added some brads in the top corner and then tied it all together with some twine that I saved off of a birthday present.

Papertake Weekly Challenge #19
Ive been busy gettin my house cleaned as well as trying to get organized for my trip to Oregon on the 28th. I decided that I needed to do a card or 2 just so I can take a break from all the hub bub. I used this weeks sketch challenge at Papertake Weekly along with a digi stamp I won from The Digi Shack. I colored it with my Bic Markers and Crayola colored pencils. Sorry the pictures are a little blurry!

A Western Themed Get Well
Ive had this Bella image I received from my fellow Cafemommer, Cheryl, and I was never quite sure what to do with it. Over at Addicted to Bellas on Cafemom, we were given the challenge to use a Bella image on a tri shutter card. I had the shutter cut and ready to go but again... completely clueless. At Incy Wincy the theme this week is Western and it finally gave me a chance to use the Bella image Ive held on for so long. I decided to incorporate the 2 challenges together and this is my result. I picked up the patterned paper at Joanns on clearance, used the Equine digi images from Digi Shack and one image from clipart.

I made this pretty quickly last night. I used the sketch provided by Our Creative Corner. I just did a wee bit of a twist on it and made it open a little bit different.

Friday Sketchers #58
The sketch over at Friday Sketchers was a good one, I really liked putting this card together. I even decided to use the tunnel fold on this one. Ive been wanting to do this fold for quite some time and I found it very easy to do. You can find the tutorial at Split Coast Stampers or here. Dont be surprised if you see more of the these tunnel fold cards in my very near future!
