Craziness and some excitment...

The past 5 days have been filled with fun! My son whom is 21 months has been sick. I broke down today and took him to urgent care to find out what was wrong and get him some meds. He as well as my girls have been keeping me busy!
My friend Jacilynn had sent me a super cool award a few weeks ago and I just havent had the opportunity to properly accept it and thank her for it! It really made my day when I finally had noticed that she sent it to me. Jacilynn ~ Thank you so much for this lovely award. You are a true friend that someday I hope to meet in person. Thank you for the time you put aside to come and visit and comment on my blog. You are too sweet. I would love to pass it on but with sicko in my arms 24/7, I will have to do it another day.

Also, I need to share my latest excitement. I had entered this card over at one of Digi Shacks contests/challenges. It actually won! How freakin awesome is that! My prize is all the images that they have up to date!!! I believe that is 43 images in all. WOOT! WOOT!!!! I had so much fun making this card and did get a lot of compliments on it. Im so very glad that some of my hard work has paid off. Im trying to patiently wait for the images to arrive so I can play and create! Thank you so much Digi Shack!!!!!

Truly Scrumptious Wedding Card

Hola y'all! The pictures on this card are horrible, I needed to quickly take photos and send it to my friend in Ohio but I think y'all get the jist of it. I followed the sketch from Truly Scrumptious as best as I could without cluttering the card. They also had a theme of spots and dots which the is same theme as the wedding. How convenient! I added the roses instead of the embellies in the corners. Since I had to mail this and its 3 dimensional I made a lil box to put it in. We did have last minute add ons like the bride and grooms names on the front of the box as well as a little pocket on the inside of the card for a gift card. I sure hope my friend as well as the people she is giving it to like it!

5 birds with 1 stone!!!!

...or should I say... 5 challenges with 1 card?!!! This worked out beautifully and Im hoping that no one frowns upon this, its so much easier this way! :) First I will start off with the layout of the card. Friday sketchers has a fantabulous sketch that scared me at first. I looked around at some paper I had stashed away and found some that complimented each other aannnndddd those papers just so happened to work perfectly for the color challenge going on over at Colour Create. The chosen colors were blue and green. This decision helped me overcome my fear of the sketch. Now... Ive been having so much fun using my Bic Markers that I have a small stack of images already colored. I pulled out a really adorable Gruffie image of a bear 'moving' another bear in a wheel barrow (green grass/blue wheel barrow). Which brings me to the next challenge... Over at House of Mouse the challenge was to create a card with a moving theme. Yet another perfect challenge for my card creation. The last I checked bears are considered animals, right? Right! Over at Paper Take Weekly, they wanted the participants to make a card with an animal on it. Bear + Bear = Animals! Yay Me! Im on a roll... LOL (oh I crack myself up) Something was yet missing on this little masterpiece of mine. BLING! Every card needs a little BLING! Wait, did I say BLING? Yup! Sure enough... Paper Makeup Stamps wanted a card with BLING! I had added diamond stickles and stick on gems for my bling. WOOT! WOOT! SCORE! 5 CHALLENGES! 1 CARD! After all that, I MUST tell you all that I have found a new love. Im in love! OMG... Let me tell you! I found a blog that I am absolutely head over heals for! You have got to check it out if you havent already. Let me wipe the drool from my chin before I continue on....(sigh)Ok. Her name is Ann but she goes by Madge. Her blog is called Madgesty - Love to Create. Her work is absolutely to die for. Go now and see for yourself. Simply AMAZING! Dont you think? So much time and color and detail. I love it! As you can see I attempted to add a little bit more to the inside of my card. Im a wanna be, I admit it!

Happy Mothers Day!

Hope everyone had or is having a fabulous Mothers Day today. Ive been having a craving for a shrimp and garlic pasta so my husband went and got me take out from the Olive Garden. As soon as I was done I got up from the table as quick as possible. The kids had their pasta and salad everywhere. I wasnt about ready to clean it up today! So here I am posting a couple of cards Ive been working on and finished up this morning. The first card is for the challenge over at Whiff of Joy. The second card is for the challenge over at the Sugar Bowl. Both challenges were sketch challenges and I definately went out of my comfort zone with the papers. Ive never really been good at matching my patterns but I recently received a small selection from my secret sister over at Cafemom. I had received the images as well in a RAK and I so hope that I got the right image with the right challenge! They turned out rather well, so looks like I will try to be more daring with my paper choices to create more of my cards.

Sketch Saturday #50

I so love this image! I received her in a RAK and now Im convinced that I have got to own her. sigh I colored her with my Bic Markers. Doesnt she look so pretty?! This is my entry for todays challenge over at Sketch Saturday. I used some patterned butterfly paper and cut out a couple of the butterflies to add as embellishments. I hand wrote my sentiment because the space was to small for the thinking of you stamp I have.

Digi Shack Color Challenge

A quick hello! I am posting my entry for the color challenge over at the Digi Shack. Unfortunately I can not post any details of my card just yet. My husband is patiently waiting for me to watch Prison Break! I will be back later or tomorrow with some details. Yikes! Sorry about that. Wentworth Miller beckons...yum! LOL
** Editing to add details **
So Im back to add some details for this cute entry over at the Digi Shack. The challenge was to use the color combinations of navy blue, off white, dark brown and kraft card stock or chip board. I really liked this combination because its earthy. I used kraft card stock as my main card. The dark brown was used a matte behind a brown handmade paper. I ripped a piece of navy blue for the water behind Surf Lani. I colored her with navy blue and brown bic markers topped off with star dust stickles. The off white was distressed with Tim Holtz weathered wood distress ink and I used a 'Tiki' font I saw on fontspace.com. Oh, cant forget my tiny prima flowers I used as embellishments. I just got those from my secret sister over at Cafemom. YAY!

Hau 'oli la hanau!

...means Happy Birthday in Hawaiian. A friend of mine wanted me to make a tropical themed card for her sisters birthday. I have absolutely nothing tropical in my craft mess so I started hand drawing some palm trees. Then.... I was stumped. I was over at my friend Jacilynn blog reading away and hopped on over to the Digishack where she is a DT for. They have these super cool digi images that I thought would be simply perfect for this card. I now have bought my very first thing online! I had quite a bit of frustration trying to get the image the proper size for my card. One big deep breath and I finally figured it out. I used the stair step fold to try and have a 3D-ish type effect, did a lil trimming around Surf-Lani, added some torn paper and distressed ink... and Wah-La... HAU 'OLI LA HANAU!

I ♥ my mom.

Happy May 1st to y'all!
This card is for the Three Clovers Challenge. First time for me participating in this challenge. I came across it blog hopping the other day. Soooo many challenges out there! I really liked this sketch and I have a lot of scraps laying around that worked perfectly. I used 2 pattern cs and 2 solid cs, distressed them all using Tim Holtz weathered wood distress ink. I embellished with a tad bit of ribbon and a heart I cut out topped with a G Studio $1 stamp.

Funny Farm repost

Theres a challenge going on over at Daring Cardmakers. Im not sure this is going to qualify but I wanted to repost this Funny Farm card that I made last month to show my usage of farm animals. It would be nice if it did qualify as this card took me a few days to complete. See this post for more details on my card.
